Seen in July 2002 on the E39 at Tasta on Stavanger's northern outskirts is RH78676, a Volvo B12 (I think) with Carrus coach body. Operated by SOT (Connex) and bearing Nor · Way Bussekspress livery it is on the Stavanger to Bergen express service. Click for a larger picture

Click for a larger picture SOT's RH53955 is a Mercedes-Benz O 405 N. Seen in Klubbgata, Stavanger in July 2002 it is freshly repainted in the Rogaland Kollektivtrafikk livery. The paint shops are now churning out the SOT and Nettbuss Vest buses in the new livery at a steady rate and at the time of writing make up almost half the buses seen on Stavanger's streets. Those of you with eagle eyes may have noticed that this picture was used as the basis for the web-counter graphic on the Index page of this website.

Seen in Kongsgata in July 2002 is SOT's SR68935, a Volvo B10B with Arna bus bodywork. This chassis/body combination was the backbone of the SOT fleet through much of the 1990's. Click for a larger picture

Still in Haakon VII's gate is Nettbuss Vest's SR54330, a DAF SB220 with Arna 2 door bus bodywork. Click for a larger picture

Resplendent in the blue Nettbuss livery is RH79203, a Mercedes-Benz Citaro, seen here in September 2002 turning from Haakon VII's gate to Olav V's gate in Stavanger city-centre. Click for a larger picture

Click for a larger picture Rogaland Taxi operates a large fleet of mini and midi-buses, many of which are adapted to transport wheel chairs. They also operate a small fleet of full-size coaches. This example, KF92293, is a Kassböhrer Setra S315 GT-HD, new in 2000 it was originally owned by Team Tour AS of Drammen. The bus is equipped with a wheel chair lift, and by removing seats up to 8 wheelchair passengers can be accomodated. With the full compliment of wheel chairs there are still 30 standard seats. It is seen here in September 2002 on Strandkaien in the city-centre.

In Stavanger on private hire in September 2002 was Nettbuss Vest's RH14677, a DAF SB3000 with Lahti 431 express body. It is branded for the Egersund - Stavanger express service. Click for a larger picture

Click for a larger picture Back on the road after a period in mothballs is SOT's AR57822, a 6-wheeled Renault Master mini-bus with bodywork by Råde Karosseri. The open driver's door bears witness to the unusually warm September weather.
