DJ68304 is a Mercedes Citaro, seen here in Haakon VII's gate in Stavanger on test with SOT The preferred purchase of this Stavanger operator was Arna bodywork mounted on a variety of chassis types, mainly Volvo and DAF. But when the Arna factory near Bergen closed in 1997, rather than go to the other Norwegian coachbuilder Vest Karosseri, they began to buy buses imported with bodywork fitted. This started with the Mercedes-Benz O 405 N, and later, the Säffle bodied Volvo B10BLE. A number of Scanias with Scania produced bodywork have also been bought.
This Picture was taken in October 1999, the green leaves on the tree bearing witness to one of the mildest autumns on record. Usually most of the leaves would have fallen by now!

RH53587 is a Mercedes-Benz O 350 Touristmo in the fleet of Haga Reiser. It is seen here in Jernbaneveien, Stavanger in November 1999, picking up passengers on the Stavanger - Egersund express service. Click for a larger picture

This SOT bus is bearing an all-over advertisement for Kim Tvedt, a local furniture 'superstore'.

PX26647 is a Mercedes with bodywork by Repstad in the fleet of NSB Biltrafikk. The Repstad factory closed in 1990, so its products are becoming increasingly rare on service buses. It is seen here in November 1999 leaving Stavanger bus station on route 21 to Gauselmarka, one Stavanger's southern suburbs. Click for a larger picture

An SOT Mercedes-Benz O 405 N seen in Kongsgata, Stavanger in November 1999. Days are short at this time of the year, and even the midday sun is so low in the sky that most of the streets are in shadow. Click for a larger picture

Click for a larger picture SR54224 is a Volvo B6 with Arna bodywork. It is seen here turning from Verksgata to Klubbgata, Stavanger in November 1999. The offices of Stavanger's evening newspaper, Stavanger Aftenblad, are on the right. This bus is used by SOT on the route from the city-centre to the Regional Hospital and Åsen district where the bus's small size is ideal for the narrow roads encountered there.
